Bartronics bags Delhi Slaughter House RFID project

In a statement to BSE, Bartronics India Ltd claimed that it has acquired a project to implement RFID technology in a Slaughter House in Delhi. The company won this project amidst stiff global competition, the statement added.

Recently, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) had issued a tender (001/DVS/2009) requesting bids to RFID enable Ghazipur Slaughter House in order to improve the overall operational efficiency and reduce customer confusion regarding the type of meat (halal and jhatka).

According to the tender, once implemented the system should provide comprehensive reporting capabilities, generate records of all animals and carcass at various levels, trace and track the livestock and individual pieces (carcass, skin, offals) during the entire process of slaughtering and identify carcass up to dispatch.

The eligibility criteria states that the bidder should have carried out at least two installations. The entire execution process has to be completed within a period of four months from the date of signing the contract.

There is a high probability that Bartronics India has won the tender for this project since this was the only Slaughter House requesting bids at that time. Even earlier, the company has been awarded a contract by MCD to set up and run 2000 G2C kiosks in Delhi.

Previously, RFID implementations by Bartronics were done at Split Rock Resort and Golf Club, Pennsylvania, US and Government of Singapore-Housing and Development Board.
